10 Must-Have Traits if You Want to be Wealthy

New reports show that 1,700 people are becoming millionaires every day in America.  Yet, the middle class is shrinking.  This means the wealth disparity is continuing to grow.  Wouldn’t it be nice to be on the other end of the spectrum for a change?

 

The good news is: Wealth leaves clues. Those with consistent financial distress share many characteristics. Those with money share other characteristics. If you can exhibit these wealthy characteristics consistently, you’ll enjoy a greater level of wealth, too.

 

01)  Associate with wealthy people.

You’ll gain a new perspective of money, the world, and opportunity. Seek out those who have attained the goals you desire.

 

02)  Manage risk, but avoid being impulsive.

Amassing real wealth will involve a level of risk. However, being impulsive can be the kiss of death. Embrace risk when the potential reward is worth the stretch. Leave the gambling to those in Vegas.

 

03)  Remove your limiting beliefs regarding money.

Many success experts believe that limiting beliefs are the greatest obstacles to success. It’s a strong possibility that you don’t have the wealth you desire because you hold negative and limiting beliefs, such as:

 

“I can’t be rich.”

“I don’t know how to make a lot of money.”

“The taxes would be too high.”

"My friends will treat me differently.”

“It will take too long”

 

If the thought of being wealthy doesn’t feel great, you’re much less likely to be successful. Work through these negative beliefs one at a time. Your thoughts have the power to affect your future.

 

04)  Consider yourself an ongoing project.

If you want to double your income, you must become a different version of yourself. It’s not necessary to undergo a fundamental change. For example, if you learned to speed-read Chinese, you would be different, but still be yourself. Continue to grow, learn, and develop a more accurate understanding of the world and yourself.

 

05)  Be bold and assertive.

It’s not easy to become wealthy while remaining anonymous in the shadows. Be brave.

 

06)  Control your spending.

Even billionaires have gone broke by spending too much. The more money you can apply to your growing finances, the faster they’ll grow.

Avoid spending more than necessary.

 

07)  Have a clear vision of where you want to be.

How much money do you want?

When do you want it?

How do you want to earn it?

 

Be specific. If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there.

 

08)  Work hard.  (Warning:  Michelle says this is just a belief)

You’ll have to be very lucky to become wealthy without hard work. Find something you enjoy that provides a lot of value to the world.

 

09)  Work smart.  (She says this is more like it!)

You can go out in your backyard with a shovel and dig a hole that rivals a crater on the moon. That’s working hard, but no one cares. Ensure that you’re working hard on something meaningful. Be smart.

 

10)  Be willing to break the rules.

Great fortunes have been made by changing the rules and providing a product or service in a new way. What can you do that’s different and important to the marketplace?

 

Successful people have learned a set of behaviors that work well. How many of these qualities do you already possess? Even if you’re currently lacking all of them, it’s never too late to start. Choose one and live it for two weeks, then add another. Over time, you can become the wealthiest person you know.
